Same-sex Marriage/Civil Unions in Michigan
Michigan has a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage and similar unions (2004). In May 2008, the Michigan Supreme Court ruled that public Universities and other state government entities are even prohibited from providing domestic partner benefits to the partners of gay employees.
